Veneta Cucine is a family-run company which was founded more than half a century ago and over the years has steadily grown from a small local enterprise into a major multinational group. Today it is Italy's most important manufacturer of kitchen furniture.
An excellent example of top-class Italian industry which expanded over the years thanks to the vision of its founder, still at the helm of the company, now been joined by his three children. The company's business model has evolved from an entrepreneurial activity into a managerial structure which includes a team of managers who have been designated to take responsibility for different areas.
The company was founded in 1967 in the province of Treviso, and in 1978 changed its name to Veneta Cucine Spa. The Group's production facilities comprise a total of 120,000 m2 of industrial buildings, divided between the plant in Biancade (TV) which includes administrative offices and a production facility, the wood finishing plant in Codissago - Longarone (BL) and the one in San Biagio di Callalta (TV) dedicated to Caranto products. The Group employees a staff of more than 800, whose task is to design, produce, manage and distribute 10 systems and 40 models based on 5 different structures, with 300 combinations of colours and materials. This makes it possible to choose from an infinite number of customized versions and to market no less than 90,000 kitchen systems each year.
2021 saw the launch of the new business plan, which aims to significantly increase the Company’s size by developing the international side of the business.
In 2008 the Group introduced its completely automated HOMAG production line, which produces four different types of finished and packaged components for kitchen units: tops, shelves, counter-tops and cupboard doors.
In February, 2015, Veneta Cucine introduced a major technological innovation within its production system, completing the project for the installation of a fully-automated warehouse designed specifically to meet the needs of the company as regards the storage, handling and distribution of the packaged components. The introduction of this new automated warehousing system has helped to improve the internal handling procedures and maximize the use of space, and also ensures that the client can trace their order during every phase of production and shipping.
Then in 2016 the company introduced LOTTO1, an automatic just-in-time system for the trimming and edge-finishing of highly-customized elements aimed at responding even more closely to the needs of the clients.
In early 2019, work was completed on the construction of the new plant for the production of the new Caranto hi-tech worktops in ceramic and quartz for the Caranto in Olmi di San Biagio di Callalta; the 2020 expansion allowed the installation of two new LOTTO 1 systems.
Origin of our wood
European woods such as oak, ash and walnut. American woods such as tulipwood from the central-eastern United States.
It is very important to also choose the correct felling season, which exclusively takes place when the trees are at rest, i.e. in winter. During the winter months, the sugar of the trees are transformed into starch, making the trees less susceptible to pest (insects or fungi) that often result in permanent damage to both the structure and the natural colour of the wood.
Veneta Cucine's products are marketed by an extensive distribution network – more than 1,000 highly-qualified dealers in Europa, Asia, Africa, North and South America – and the company has developed a very close working relationship with a network of international distributors who give exclusive space to its products and are able to express all the undisputed character and personality of the brand.
In 2003, Veneta Cucine received ISO 9001 certification, which guarantees the quality of the product and the satisfaction of the client; in 2012 the company obtained ISO 14001 certification thanks to their production processes and the use of materials designed to safeguard the environment; in 2013, OHSAS 18001 (now ISO 45001), which focuses on the health and safety in the workplace; finally, in 2019, the company received CATAS/COSMOB approval, as specified in UNI 11674, for the production of "Made in Italy" furniture.
In addition, in 2006 the company was one of the first to introduce a closed-cycle water-based painting system which guarantees the same excellent quality while drastically reducing the emission of toxic substances.
Another important step forward in guaranteeing maximum consumer safety was made in 2011. Veneta Cucine's kitchens were the first (and only) products treated with the exclusive BBS® anti-bacteria treatment known as Bacteria Blocker Silverguard, which is applied to all work-tops and other laminated surfaces liable to come into contact with foodstuffs: work-tops, frames and drawer bottoms.
Veneta Cucine uses an organisation, management and control model (so-called "Model 231") as required by Italian Legislative Decree no. 231 of 8 June 2001.
The Decree introduces the liability of companies for certain offences committed, in their interest or to their advantage, by subjects who operate on behalf of or in the name of the companies such as directors, managers and employees as well as by subjects in a collaborative relationship when they act under the control or management of subjects accountable to the same.
With the introduction of Model 231, Veneta Cucine therefore undertakes to prevent committing of the offences envisaged by the Decree and to provide a line of conduct that must be applied and respected in every action carried out within the company itself.
Issues relating to environmental sustainability have been taken on Veneta Cucine in the early 2000s, as a natural expression of its sensitivity towards collective well-being, which is an integral part of the Company’s vision.
In the 2008 arose the philosophy of “Green Thinking”, which initially was ideally embodied in the Incubator (designer Andrea Branzi), Pergolato (designer Dante Donegani e Giovanni Lauda) and Ecocompatta (designer Paolo Rizzatto) models.
The latter, an environmentally-friendly kitchen module, minimal in size but complete in terms of functional components, applies the concept of reduction, in all its possible forms: costs, materials and space.
PRECISELY REDUCTION FORMS THE “COMMON THREAD” CONNECTING THE VARIOUS MEASURES UNDERTAKEN BY THE COMPANY IN TERMS OF SUSTAINABILITY. THE DECISION TO DRAW UP THE FIRST SUSTAINABILITY REPORT IN 2021 ENABLED AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED STANDARD TO BE USED TO REPORT ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT.
We employ 100% recycled wood composites for the elements that make up our kitchens, as well as materials that do not create environmental imbalance. Also, we use production methods such as continuous-cycle water-based painting with extremely low emissions of harmful substances.
As part of its transition towards sustainability principles, Veneta Cucine has decided to use electricity only from renewable sources for its manufacturing sites and for a number of its mono-brand stores.
Veneta Cucine’s commitment is supported by the Italian framework, which fosters a mix of energies and dependable suppliers that are mindful of the environment.
Renewable energies come from renewable sources, such as the sun, wind, water and geothermal resources, tidal energy, wave energy or biomass and not from the burning of fossil fuels, such as petroleum, coal or natural gas.
At Veneta Cucine, a new buzzword has been circulating for some time now. “Green Thinking” is environmentally friendly thought placed at the service of innovations which lead to a healthier environment and safeguard the wellbeing of the user, besides enhancing the functionality of the company’s products.
One of the most interesting new ideas is BBS® Bacteria Blocker Silverguard, a trademark created for an antibacterial treatment using silver ions. The surfaces of laminates are given this treatment, which reduces bacterial growth by 99.9%.
The great advantage of the system is that the antibacterial power remains unchanged over time, since the silver is not in liquid form; instead, it is encapsulated into particles when the materials are impregnated, so it does not evaporate.
BBS® Bacteria Blocker Silverguard is the result of advanced, long-term research into sanitizing with treatments containing precious metals.
One of the most interesting new ideas is BBS® Bacteria Blocker Silverguard, produced by and created for an antibacterial treatment using silver ions. The surfaces of laminates are given this treatment, which reduces bacterial growth by 99.9%.
In other words, the bacteria are first made harmless, and then prevented from proliferating, so that they disappear completely from surfaces in contact with foods and from laminate countertops in the kitchen.
With its highly-developed corporate culture, Veneta Cucine boasts an extraordinary volume of production, and every product in the range is built to the highest levels of quality, representing the most sophisticated technologies and the very best of craftsman skills.
